A large round gilt bronze medal; the obverse depicting an Austrian eagle, surrounded by the Coat of Arms of Austrias nine states; the reverse inscribed Fr Verdienste um die Republic sterreich (For Merit for the Republic of Austria); on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon; 45. 03 mm in diameter; weighing 39. 7 grams; in overall extremely fine condition.
