Instituted 23 May 1812 by King Friedrich Wilhelm III. (1852 1918 issue). Constructed of Gold with enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with white enameled arms set within a Gold frame, joined together through the quadrants by crowned and black painted Prussian angles with the Gold base visible through the heads, the twelve oclock arm topped by a pebbled fan suspension
