Betel Leaf, Paan (Small Leaf Form) subtropical Partially self fertile with predominantlyPaan or Piper betle is the leaf of a vine belonging to the Piperaceae family which includes pepper and kava. The leaves are edible and mildly bitter and aromatic. In India and a few other Asian countries it is common to eat 'Masala Paan' (sliced betel nut, lime powder and other spices rolled up in betel leaves) after food. But it's also a beautiful ornamental climber in its own right. Taller plants may be pruned to around 20cm ease of shipping.
