I found these wonderful old hand-painted letters in the stables of a huge old horse farm in Marlborough MA

I found it at the estate sale of an artist and gallerist on Newbury Street in Boston

but I really love the treatment the artist gave to its splendid plumage and talons

and at least a hundred years old I believe
