The rural labourer doffs his hat to the upper class rider who is preparing to set off with the Hunt. A beagle stands to attention in anticipation of the chase. This cartoon illustrates the beginning of pressure by groups opposed to blood sports, and shows how the moral aims of such groups may not entirely accord with the needs of rural communities.
